ҹɫÊÓƵ Temporary Positions

Temporary roles offer an opportunity to showcase your skills and build professional relationships that may support your future career at ҹɫÊÓƵ.

  • Temporary positions are based on the university’s operational needs and typically last 3 – 6 months. On occasion, they may last for shorter or longer periods of time, usually no longer than one year.
  • Temporary employees work within ҹɫÊÓƵ’s regular business hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm unless otherwise specified or agreed upon by the hiring manager prior to employment.
  • Temporary positions often become available unexpectedly and need to be filled urgently. You can expect the hiring process to move quickly once an interview for a specific position has been offered. For this reason, we require Talent Pathways applicants to be available for in-person work at one of our campuses in Halifax, Truro or Saint John New Brunswick.

ҹɫÊÓƵ is a unionized environment. If the position you are filling on a temporary basis becomes a long-term position, it will be posted on in alignment with the related collective agreement or handbook, and you are encouraged to apply.Ìý

Remote Work Options

ҹɫÊÓƵ supports flexible work arrangements when operationally possible. Temporary positions may be hybrid or in-person, but all Talent Pathways roles require you to:Ìý

  • Reside in Nova Scotia (or New Brunswick for work on the Saint John campus)
  • Be available to work on campus when needed.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit.

Due to the nature of temporary employment, relocation to Nova Scotia is required before a job offer can be made.Ìý
