The Amazing AgZone Race will take place next week - May 15th to May 17th at the ҹɫÊÓƵ Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS.
The purpose of AgZone is to show junior high students interesting and unexpected facets of agriculture and to promote agricultural science as an educational or career choice. Students will also better understand and appreciate food production in the province.Â
AgZone takes place between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm each day with students taking part in mini-workshops on a wide variety of agricultural topics ranging from DNA extraction from strawberries to environmental stewardship on farms. The students will be guided across campus by ҹɫÊÓƵ Faculty of Agriculture graduate students and agrologists. Each guide will record the time it takes their team to travel from one session to the next. The team with the shortest total transition time at the end of the day wins The Amazing AgZone Race!Â
AgZone is presented by: The NS Department of Agriculture, the ҹɫÊÓƵ Faculty of Agriculture and the NS Agricultural Awareness Committee.
